The feature will air each Tuesday evening for 10 weeks during Geico SportsNite at 10 p.m., culminating with the AAU Nationals where the team will look to stay on top of the amateur basketball world.
Comcast SportsNet explores the lives of the D.C. Assault’s 17-and-under team, including Duke commitments Joshua Hairston and Tyler Thornton and Notre Dame commitment Eric Atkins, and examines life inside arguably the most successful 17-and-under AAU program in the country. The network follows these players through practice, life outside the court and to tournaments across the country, including the Adidas Super 64 in Las Vegas.
The network will also follow D.C. Assault president Curtis Malone, who has helped more than 60 Assault members receive college scholarships and has four former players on current NBA rosters, as he readies his squad for not only a grueling basketball season, but life after high school with or without basketball. Malone has coached current Miami Heat star Michael Beasley, Orlando Magic’s Keith Bogans along with Oklahoma City Thunder and Georgetown Alum Jeff Green.
