After shooting the games, Sebastian Salazar will let you know who impressed him the most every week with his Seabass Selects!

What's up folks! Our first night is in the books, and I think it went pretty well.  Three games, and a crash course in upper Montgomery County geography.  Planning which games we are going to make it to can be tough, as we have to take into account importance and location.  Glad we got to see one of the great MoCo rivalries though, in Damascus and Seneca Valley!

Offensive Player of the Night:

Running Back - Brian Lucas - Damascus

Second coming of Mike Alstott anybody??? This kid is a load to bring down, but has the moves to make people miss.  I don't think I saw anybody bring him down on first contact, and if you check out the highlights there are plenty of occasions where it took at least three or four tacklers to bring him down.  I feel sorry for the smaller defensive backs trying to tackle Lucas in the open field at the end of a 20 yard run.  OUCH!

Defensive Player of the Night:

Linebacker - Matt Grimm - Wootton

Wootton may have lost this game, but it had nothing to do with the effort from two-way star Matt Grimm.  The kid has a nose for the ball, and that was evident when he perfectly read a WR screen pass, intercepted it, and then fell forward into the Paint Branch endzone for a touchdown.  When great athletes make great plays, you get great highlights... and that play certainly qualifies as great in my book.

Fans of the Night:

Quince Orchard

The "Red Army" might have been nervous when their team went to the locker room with a slim 10-7 lead against Northwest.  But just like the Cougars, QO's fans came ready for the second half... going nuts when the Quince Orchard players took the field and providing a boost that I can't help but think played a part in the Pernell Brantley's kickoff return touchdown to start the second half.

*** Remember we are only able to be at each game for a little while, so if we missed something... LET US KNOW!!! Leave a comment ***
