After shooting the games, Sebastian Salazar will let you know who impressed him the most every week with his Seabass Selects!

What's up folks! I have to say the football gods smiled down on Montgomery County tonight... not just with some great games, but with helping us get to all four of our destinations.  Shot through rush hour traffic to get to Clarksburg first, then Northwest, Watkins Mill, and finally Magruder.  Getting to know Montgomery County like the back of my hand!

Offensive Player of the Night:

Pernell Brantley - Wide Receiver - Quince Orchard

Brantley is the kind of guy who can score at anytime, from anywhere on the field, and in a variety of different ways.  Two weeks ago I saw him run back a kickoff against Northwest.  Tonight, he takes a 5-yard pass across the middle and turns it into an 81-yard touchdown reception.  I know the refs called back the final 30 yards of the catch and run, saying that Brantley had stepped out of bounds, but I dropped the video into super slow-motion and I'm still not convinced he didn't stay in.

Defensive Player of the Night:

Bret Sickels - Linebacker - Churchill

This sophomore is a very good player most of the time, but on 4th down in the 4th quarter... he is a BEAST!  With Magruder marching and under a minute left to play, Sickels stuffed a 4th down running play for negative yardage and ended the Colonels' hopes of winning in regulation.  He did the same thing in a similar situation last week against Northwest... way to go, Big Play Bret!

Fans of the Night:

Clarksburg

Felt like Varsity Blues up in Clarksburg tonight.  Great crowd that never let up the whole time we were there (credit to QO for filling their side of the bleachers).  Not an empty seat anywhere on the Coyotes' side of the field and there were people lined up 2-deep against the fence.  Cheerleaders did a nice job coming up with some original material, which scores major bonus points!  Clarksburg's band sounded great, but also had good timing with their music selection and cheering.  Best all-around atmosphere I've seen yet this year... well done Clarksburg!
