Bethesda, MD – The region’s only local live daily sports analysis and entertainment show, Comcast SportsNet’s Washington Post Live, debuts a whole new look beginning on Monday October 12 when new host Ivan Carter celebrates the start of the NHL and NBA seasons with exclusive interviews with some of the top newsmakers in sports and other special guests and features.  Washington Post Live airs daily on Comcast SportsNet live from 5:00 pm to 6:00 pm, and encores at 11:30 pm.

Carter, a former Washington Post sports reporter who brings deep local ties and a thorough knowledge of local sports to the show, will host Magic Johnson to preview the upcoming NBA season and handicap the Wizards 2009-2010 prospects; Jack Nicklaus to assess the test of time for his PGA records and his second career as one of the world’s most successful course designers; Washington Post investigative reporter Bob Woodward about the parallels between politics and sports; and former Oriole Cal Ripken, Jr. to breakdown the MLB postseason.  His guests also include actor and sports fan Dennis Leary, Virginia Tech head coach Frank Beamer, and panelists from the ranks of the region’s sports press corps.

Never one to shy away from a competitive challenge, Carter puts down his pen to go head to head with special in-studio guests, including competitive eater Sonya “The Black Widow” Thomas, the Radio City Rockettes, and fitness guru Denise Austin.
