• May 11, 2009: Comcast SportsNet Recognized With Ten Capital Region Emmy Nominations

Bethesda, MD (May 11, 2009) – Comcast SportsNet Mid-Atlantic, the leader in local sports television, has been nominated for 10 Capital Region Emmy Awards, the most nominations for the network since 2003. Out of 78 television entities from across Washington, D.C., Maryland and Virginia, Comcast SportsNet earned the fifth-most nominations. The awards recognize excellence in creativity, execution and content in locally produced news and programming.

The nominations were announced Thursday, May 7 at a reception hosted by The National Capital/Chesapeake Bay Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences (NATAS). The awards will be announced at the 51st Emmy Award Ceremony on Saturday, June 6 at the Ritz Carlton in Washington, DC.

“Receiving 10 Emmy nominations speaks not only the talent of our staff here at Comcast SportsNet, but to their dedication and desire to bring our viewers the comprehensive local sports coverage they desire,” said Rebecca Schulte, senior vice president and general manager of Comcast SportsNet Mid-Atlantic. “It is an honor to be recognized alongside so many outstanding television organizations throughout D.C., Maryland and Virginia.”
