Paes Named 2009 World Team Tennis Male MVP

According to sources close to the team, Washington Kastles star Leander Paes has been named the 2009 World Team Tennis Male MVP.

 

WTT co-founder Billie Jean King will present the award to Paes prior to Friday night’s Eastern Conference Finals at Kastles stadium, where Leander will look to lead his team in to the Advanta World Team Tennis Championship Finals which takes place Sunday in Washingotn, D.C.

 

In his first season of World Team Tennis, Paes, who is a nine time grand slam champion, a five time Olympian, and Olympic bronze medalist, was the best mixed doubles player during the regular season and the linchpin of his team’s success.

 

Paes is the 6th ranked men’s doubles player in the world.
