Sorenson joined Comcast SportsNet in October 2005 as an anchor/reporter from Fox5, where she captured an Associated Press Award for a piece on multi-jurisdictional auto theft detail.
Now a mainstay on the Comcast SportsNet news desk, Sorenson has followed the George Mason Patriots to the Final Four, fronted the Washington Capitals beat and regularly anchors both the SportsNite and SportsDay desks.
Prior to Fox5, she spent four years at NBC 4 as a sports reporter and anchor, as well as co-host of "Redskins Gameplan." Jill has been nominated twice for an Emmy Award. She won an Emmy for a sports series in 2000, for her work on "The Replacements".
Prior to arriving in Washington, Sorenson worked as a sports anchor and reporter at WDIO-TV in Duluth , Minn. She graduated with honors from Brown University with degrees in English and Hispanic Studies and was a member of the varsity soccer team.
