Losing season
by washfan222 On Thu 09/03/09 7:56pm

Redskins will be at best 5-11.

I see a total meltdown.

Pass rush is suspect, depth on the offensive line will hurt them again, and the offense just plain won't score points.

Are you an idiot? Or is this how you protect yourself by going with such a poor prognostication for the team you are supposedly a fan of so you won't feel disappointed if they don't do well. Or are you simply a coward? Grow some! How can you think 5 - 11 or worse when the offense is obviously better, Campbell is clearly better. Kelly and Thomas are better. Add Orakpo and Phat Albert, Philip Daniels' return, youth, etc. Do yourself a favor, lay off the drugs.

I agree with this assessment and have felt that way since the end of last season.  With the way the team is being run and how they did this preseason, I have no reason to change that assessment.

Hopefully better than last season. However, it will take a lot of fundamental football like blocking and tackling. The star players i.e. Chris Cooley, will need to stop getting beat and provide some support for the offensive line. When comes to catching the ball Cooley is pretty good but he gets beat a lot in his blocking assignments. And seeing how the offensive line is the weakest area of the team, and that weakness was not addressed in the draft it will have to be the top pryority next year.

My breakdown: Between 9-7 & 11-5 (Not accounting for key injuries)

How they will fair against the NFC east. Dal, NY, PHI: between 2-4 & 4-2. I believe some combo of 3-3.

Against NFC south between 3-1 & 2-2. I believe 2-2. Assuming, Road win against Atl. or CAR, home lost against N.O.

Against 4th place finisher from 2008 NFC & AFC. Det, St.Lu, N.O. & K.C., . I believe 3-1. (Assuming they will give away at least one of those, plus the Saints will be a tough game.)

Against AFC West bet 3-1 & 2-2. I believe 3-1, If we handle home field, and can beat the Raiders. (Oakland seems to have our number)

Will they make the playoffs? Super Bowl?

I never try to predict the two super bowl opponents, in the month of Sept, because anyone who follows this sport knows; championship teams raise their level of play in Dec. and Jan., So only time and fate will determine who’s in the Super Bowl.  As far as the playoff, I believe that if we, first in foremost stay healthy on both sides of the ball. Two, take care of the home field,( especially against conference teams outside of the division, because you only get one shot at them, and they can cost you a tie-breaker.)  Three, when the games we should, and win a couple that we probably shouldn’t.  I believe this team is at the very least a playoff team.

Any other thoughts?  Let everyone know right here in this thread.

I've been a Skin's fan for 30yrs running, and this is probably the most talented team of them all. Only problem I see is, right now their not all on the same page. That's Player's and Coach's.

The Skins will have a losing season. This will continue until the appropriate changes are made from the top down. Dan, if you are listening, look around you. The most consistent teams in this day of free agency, are those with strong organizations (teams that build through the draft by making sound decisions and having a GM that knows something about football). One injury on the offensive and defensive line and we are right back where we were last year. This tells me that someone at the top is not making good choices, while spending your money (Vinny has got to go!!!!!). Vinny's draft picks are currently showing what they can do, so his skills as a talent scout are questionable, not to mention his GM aptitude. Jim Zorn has no experience as an NFL head coach. Maybe he will turn out to be another Vince Lombardi, but with a weak organization around him we may never know. I personally don't think Jim is head coach material. I think his "Hip, hip, hoorah!" mentality is at least thirty years behind the times. Should he be given a chance to show his potential? I have two words to answer that question, Bill Cower!!!!!!!

Record?

3 and 13

Will they make the playoffs? Super Bowl?

Yes, but only by purchasing tickets!!

Any other thoughts?  The Skins are taking the Sun out of Sunday!!!!!!!!
