Chick's Chat: Dallas WeekNovember 17, 2009, 6:37 pm It's here!! A game against "Americas team" with meaning. Why does it mean anything when you're 3-6 like the Skins, because it does that's why! How do you like that analysis! For the last decade or since Dan Snyder took over, "Beat Dallas" hasn't really worked has it? During the Snyder era (or error) Washington is 6-14 against the Pokes. Not good. So why does this particular game have meaning? I already told you, because it does that's why! No one expcects the Redskins to come out of this stretch on the right end, but what they do hope for is effort like they got last Sunday. I told you before to not even mention playoffs, and that still holds true, but how bout just the chance to walk into your offices next Monday with your head held high, and sneer down at those Cowboys fans' mugs! Would'nt that be nice? That's why the game has meaning to those you who won't be wearing a uniform on Sunday, the chance to gloat, put a hop in your step. Aren't you looking forward to seeing how Hunter "the punter" Smith will be used this week? He is officially the first Specialist to run for and throw for a touchdown in the same season. Why not have him catch one against Jerry's boys. I'll be back later in the week to give you the full 411 on what this week means to me. As a kid, I grew up on the other side of this one. Here's one tidbit since I called the Redskins win last week over Twitter and facebook. #26 won't play, it's up to Ladell and Rock. Beat Dallas!

Chick's Chat: Redskins Need To Mind Their P'sNovember 9, 2009, 11:48 pm Those are the only “P” words the Redskins are playing for now. At 2-6, the Redskins have little if any shot at the postseason. It would take a miracle. And while Al Michaels still to this day wonders if we believe in them, the answer, Al, is a big fat NO! Why should we? Nothing will change for this team until the team itself changes. I don't mean the owner; Dan Snyder is trying to build a winner. The only problem is, he got in his own way. In his own zeal to create a franchise that could match the one he bought from the Cooke estate, he didn't do the one thing I'm sure he did on the business side of his life: surround himself with people who knew what the hell they were doing. He didn't do it when he bought the team, and 10 years later, the soil that was supposed to be a firm foundation is just a quagmire of soot. Do you realize that after one-half of play against the Falcons, the Redskins had a total of 69 years of offense? Did you know that 69 yards was also the same amount the Redskins were penalized in the half? Another “P” word. Great! One of those penalties -- actually two (Landry & Haynesworth) -- took place in the second quarter. LaRon Landry certainly hit Matt Ryan late out of bounds. Expect a fine for that one LL. Albert, you can also plan on pulling a miniscule morsel from your $100,000,000.00 contract for the fine you'll be receiving. Haynesworth arrived late to rescue DeAngelo Hall, who was caught in a nest of Falcons who were pulling at him like he was prey. What was most disturbing was the fact that, in my humble opinion, not enough Redskins came to Hall's rescue! Where was everyone? This team has issues, and that scene alone speaks to one: unity. Do you have my back or don't you? Pride. Mike Smith, Atlanta's head coach, did not show much professionalism when he put his hands on Hall. I do believe Hall has the right to complain to the league office, but truthfully, what is Roger Goodell, the NFL Commish, going to do to a head coach? Seriously? DeAngelo did show some professionalism by going back to work after the melee. But it must have drained him ‘cuz he and the rest of that secondary sure looked like warm butter as Michael Turner whipped right through them to the tune of 166 yards. This team has issues from the top to the bottom and back up again, but you already knew this. Are you ready for eight more games of it? If you're a Redskins fan, I know how you're feeling right now. Yep, it's a “P” word! PEACE (my final "P" word)
Why does CSN cover out of town college football, rather than the TERPS? Chick, I'm surprised that CSN, DC's regional sportsnetwork, doesn't cover local college football, like the Maryland Terps. For example, today it looks like both Comcast Sportsnet channels have Texas and Kentucky football on! The Terps should be on tv, not just espn360, and Comcast should feel responsible to cover them. It's not like the Comcast Empire is not rolling in cash. *(see the upcoming NBC buyout) Posted by KMatt at 8:07 am Nov 14, 2009 Amen, Chick Totally agree, Chick! There's no pride, continuity, effort, passion, fight - nothing! from this team. Where's the TEAMWORK? Looks like everyone - not all - came for the MONEY. Hope they all prove me wrong. Only fiery coach is "Buges" and sometimes Blache. Come on Z-man, get after these players and make them want to WIN! TO WIN, not this "play not to lose" crap!! Posted by DG at 6:05 pm Nov 11, 2009 well said Well said. Here's hoping thr owner finally realizes his mistakes and fixes them Posted by Gem at 5:04 pm Nov 11, 2009 Pitiful Pitiful Pitiful Another P word for you ... we can only hope that Snyder fires Vinny and hires a real GM ... but most likely Vinny will be promoted to GM because nothing the Redskins do makes sense Posted by Pitiful at 10:05 pm Nov 10, 2009 pathetic and pathetic ownership and general managing. Bill Roland said it best, they need a new play-caller and a new player-caller Posted by Troy at 2:11 pm Nov 10, 2009 p-word How about PATHETIC! Pathetic tackling, pathetic run game, pass game, catching, run stopping, coaching. Pathetic! Posted by Troy at 2:10 pm Nov 10, 2009 fans r "P"-ISSED! I have a "P" also, The Redskins players are just "PANSIES"! They stink! I for one would like a boycott! Posted by kelly at 11:33 am Nov 10, 2009 |

All the half hearted fans that have been bashing there team the last month will be right infront of the TV. And when they win the banwagon will be full again..... Its funny how that works! True fans dont jump on and off.
